Hello Tanya,
Something that helped me was doing lots of repetitions. My partner and I would use a bag of balls and toss "2" sets (we would throw the ball up underhand simulating a set right in front of the hitter about 5 feet or more above the height of the net) for one another. We would hit 10 each and then switch places. We worked on this drill at the beach. It took quite some time, but we both got a lot better at timing the set and hitting it more aggressively. If any of this is confusing, let me know and I will try to explain it more clearly. Don't give up and be patient – you will become a better spiker.
